Biography.
Andrew Taylor Knight is a Malaysian-Australian Baritone and graduate of the Sydney Conservatorium of Music - Masters of Music, Opera Performance. He trained under the tutelage of Maree Ryan AM and now with world renowned Mezzo-Soprano Gail Dubinbaum.
Raised in the New England Region of New South Wales, Andrew thrived in the excellent performing arts program at The Armidale School. In his time there he was offered both the Jim Graham Scholarship for Performing Arts and Honours in Music.
Since moving to Sydney, he was the recipient of the Lorraine Copley Young Artist Scholarship, Greenberg Gurney-Jensen Fund, Patricia Bell Grant Scholarship, The John Holt Todd and Florence Todd Scholarship, St. Andrew’s College Vocal Scholarship and Country Education Fund Scholarship.
Most recently, Andrew has seen success with performances of the title role of Don Giovanni in both Italy and Sydney, as “Sid” in Pacific Opera’s Albert Herring, “Sprecher” in the Sydney Conservatorium’s production of Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte, Pinchgut Opera’s chorus and a winter internship program at Opera Australia.
In 2023 Andrew appeared on The Voice of Australia, where he was a semi-finalist. Andrew is now making his debut with the 12 Tenors of the World with national tours of Germany and international tours of Denmark, Sweden, Luxembourg, Spain, Austria, Italy and China.
